NTR thought and turning producer evoked in Nimmakuru
Hero Nandamuri Balakrishna said when he was in Nimmakuru for the launch of Basavatarakam hospital, the thought of making biopic came and he instantly announced it. Also NBK decided to turn producer at the same place, he calls it the grace the NTR’s birth place.
When Teja walked out of the project, Balakrishna plan to wield the megaphone as well but he opined that he had directed then he would not have done justice to the biopic. Regarding the NBK reached Mumbai to inform Vidya Balan and this is where director Krish who was shooting for ‘Manikarnika’ approached and offered to direct ‘NTR’ biopic.
“I just took couple of minutes to finalise Krish’s name. He read Telugu literature and had the notion that he has the ability to helm the film,” stated the Nandamuri hero.
The film shaped in chronological order and started off the proceedings with NTR reaching Madras. “For this episode, I underwent as my father for the first time. In Madras, Prakash Rao, Yoganandh, TV Raju and others were his roommates. How they struggled in the early stages are shown,” added Balayya.
About Bollywood actress Vidya Balan playing the role of his mother, Basavatarakam, he said, “My sister Lokeswari gave inputs to Vidya. But Vidya did her bit of research too. She is an amazing actress to work with.”
There were couple of things belonging to NTR were also used in the film and revealing about them, NBK said, “I used his spectacles and the chair used in ‘Seetharama Kalyanam’ movie.”
