Taapsee Pannu dropped from Pati Patni Aur Woh remake: I deserve an answer. It is disheartening
Taapsee Pannu had an adventurous 2018. She had four releases, Dil Junglee, Soorma, Manmarziyaan and Soorma. However, her 2019 has started on a rather strange note. After getting a narration of the film Pati, Patni Aur Woh remake, Taapsee was stunned to learn that she had been dropped from the film at the last minute.
Taapsee told a daily, "I was at the narration in November, in the presence of Juno and Abhay (Chopra, the producer). I liked the script and gave it a go-ahead. I was asked to clear my schedule and I complied. Only the closes remained to be negotiated. But suddenly, they vanished."
When asked what the reason for being dropped from the film was, she said that even director Mudassar was not given a reason. "He was just asked to take someone else’. When I tried to confront the producers, I wasn't given a proper reason. As much as I have been trying to get some clarity on the matter, they've been putting off the conversation, which is very weird."
According to Taapsee, the film that was meant to go on floors next month, sent her work schedules for a toss. "I assumed I was the first choice since the director had narrated the script to me first. After moving my dates around, it would've been better had they told me first, instead of finding it out from others. This is disheartening. I deserve an answer."
Taapsee says she has learnt a lesson from this episode and says, I'm going to be careful before celebrating a good script. This has been an eye-opener."
Interestingly, just the other day there were reports of Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday being the final leads for the film.
