Ajith's Viswasam trailer made to take a dig at Rajinikanth's Petta? Editor Ruben reveals all
The trailer of Ajith-starrer Viswasam was perceived as a reply to Rajinikanth's Petta, which is locking horns with the former at the box office on January 10.
This led to an online war between fans of Rajinikanth and Ajith Kumar. However, the editor of Viswasam, Antony Ruben, says that they didn't intend to take a dig at Petta.
The Petta trailer ends with Rajinikanth warning his enemies to run away if they love their families. On the other hand, Ajith calls himself a family man, who is still ready for a one-to-one fight.
Editor Ruben said that the similarities between Petta and Viswasam were just accidental. He revealed that Viswasam trailer was supposed to release on Christmas and he had it ready on December 20.
"People said I started the fight between Ajith and Rajinikanth fans with Viswasam trailer. My aim was only to make a 'massy' trailer for Ajith-starrer Viswasam," he said.
Directed by Siruthia Siva, Viswasm is a rural actioner with Ajith in the lead role. Nayanthara is playing the wife of Ajith Kumar in the film, who is named Thooku Durai in the film. Jagapti Babu is playing the antagonist in the film.
On the other hand, Petta, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has many renowned actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi and Simran in the lead role.
